Report Title: Contract #40-470-2 (AAA) Contra Costa Senior Legal Services American Rescue Plan Act Amendment

RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Contra Costa Senior Legal Services to increase the payment limit by $320,000 to a new total payment limit of $450,376 and to extend the term end date of June 30, 2024, to a new term end date of September 30, 2024, for additional Legal Assistance and Elder Abuse Prevention services.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$450,376: 100% Federal funds, all of which will be budgeted in FY 24-25.
BACKGROUND:
Contractor was awarded a contract in the amount of $130,376 ) to provide legal assistance including legal advice, counseling and/or representation for the period July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024, from the California Department of Aging’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) award to the Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD).
Approval of this amendment will allow the contractor to provide additional Legal Assistance and Elder Abuse Prevention services through September 30, 2024.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Should the proposed action not be approved by the Board of Supervisors, the County will not be able to provide additional Legal Assistance and Elder Abuse Prevention services through the Older Americans Act funding.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This contract supports the fourth of Contra Costa County’s community outcomes of the Children’s Report Card, "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing.”
