Report Title: Amendment to Consulting Services Agreement with Mead and Hunt, Inc., for On-Call Airport Engineering, Design, and Architectural Services

RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Director of Airports, or designee, to execute an amendment to the November 1, 2020 On-Call Consulting Services Agreement between the County and Mead and Hunt, Inc., to update Attachment 1 to Appendix B with current rate sheets for Mead and Hunt and their subconsultants, and add Terracon Consultants, Inc., as an approved subconsultant. (100% Airport Enterprise Fund)
FISCAL IMPACT:
For any future task orders generated through this agreement, the increase from 2020 hourly rates to 2024 hourly rates will be paid through the Airport Enterprise Fund.
BACKGROUND:
In November of 2020, the County and Mead and Hunt, Inc., (Mead & Hunt) entered into a five-year On-Call Consulting Services Agreement for airport related engineering, design, and architectural services. Airports management is currently requesting Mead & Hunt to perform work under this agreement, the first time since early 2021. Because the consultant hasn’t worked under this contract in quite some time, they have not requested annual rate increases, but are requesting one now. The requested rate change reflects an annual 5% increase from 2020 to 2024, consistent with the terms of the agreement. Additionally, there is the need to add Terracon Consultants, Inc., (geotechnical engineers) as an approved subconsultant. Airports management recommends approval of both these items.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the updated rates and additional subconsultant are not approved, the Airports Division will not be able to complete certain projects in a timely manner.
