Report Title: ADOPT POSITION ADJUSTMENT RESOLUTION NO. 26283 IMPLEMENTING REORGANIZATION OF SUPERVISORIAL DISTRICT II STAFFING

RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 26283 to effectuate the following:
1. ADD one (1) vacant, full-time Board of Supervisors Assistant - General Secretary (J993) position effective July 1, 2024
2. CANCEL one (1) vacant, full-time Board of Supervisors Assistant - Chief Assistant (J995) (position # 2482) effective August 1, 2024
FISCAL IMPACT:
Cost savings of approximately $41,480 annually, including $6,259 annually from the employer share of pension costs. This is primarily related to replacing the scheduled vacant Board of Supervisors Assistant - Specialist position with a Board of Supervisors Assistant - General Secretary position effective July 1, 2024.
BACKGROUND:
Supervisorial District II Chief of Staff Gayle Israel has announced her retirement from County service effective July 31, 2024. To ensure continuity of service to the residents and staff within District II, current District II staff member Jennifer Quallick has been selected to succeed Ms. Israel effective July 1, 2024 to allow for a 30 day transition period. This action will be completed administratively via a deep class reassignment of Ms. Quallick.
Today's board action adds one (1) Board of Supervisors Assistant - General Secretary position effective on July 1, 2024 to allow the District office to hire during the month of July and subsequently cancels the Board of Supervisors Assistant - Chief Assistant position held by Ms. Israel effective August 1, 2024 following her scheduled retirement.
