Referral History:
One of the strategies in the County’s Climate Action and Adaptation Plan is Resilient Communities and Natural Infrastructure: Contra Costa County will increase resilience to climate hazards and foster community health. Within that strategy are actions regarding protecting communities against additional hazards created or exacerbated by climate change, using green infrastructure to address effects of extreme weather such as flooding and drought, and using natural and working lands to store pollution.
Referral Update:
The Contra Costa County Flood Control Division, located in the Department of Public Works, is a lead for the County on sequestering carbon and other pollution on County-owned properties. The attached presentation provides an overview of green infrastructure projects implemented by the Flood Control District and a new program being implemented to meet regional stormwater permit requirements.
