Report Title:                     Reassign one (1) vacant Secretary-Advanced Level from the Emergency Medical Services Department to the Health Services Department

Recommendation of the County Administrator Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:

Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution No. 26495 to reassign one (1) vacant Secretary-Advanced Level (J3TG) position # 15263 in salary plan and grade 3R2 1163 ($5,367.12 - $6,870.36) from Emergency Medical Services (Serv Area Em-1 Zone B (7406/7406)) to Hospital and Health Centers (Hospital Enterprise Fund I (0540/6544)) in the Health Services Department.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This FTE-neutral reassignment will result in a transfer of cost of $132,405.59, including $19,343.09 in pensions costs, from Serv Area EM-1 Zone B to Hospital Enterprise Fund I.

BACKGROUND:

In August 2025, position #15263 was vacated as a result of a promotion, and the department identified that this classification and position was no longer necessary due to other staffing changes that occurred during budget development that generated additional administrative capability.

Concurrently, within Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC), new onboarding of leadership positions has resulted in the business need of additional administrative secretarial support for the Chief Executive Officer.

Therefore, the department requests to reassign this vacant position to address this emergent need.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this request is disapproved, the CEO of CCRMC and health centers will not have the proper support needed to perform optimally.
