IN THE MATTER OF RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE 80TH ANNIVERSARY OF CENTRAL CONTRA COSTA SANITARY DISTRICT (CENTRAL SAN) AS RECOMMENDED BY SUPERVISORS BURGIS AND ANDERSEN
WHEREAS, the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District (Central San) was established in 1946 to provide essential wastewater collection and treatment services to residents and businesses throughout central Contra Costa County; and
WHEREAS, for 80 years, Central San has played a vital role in protecting public health, safeguarding the environment, and supporting the quality of life for communities throughout the region; and
WHEREAS, Central San currently serves nearly half a million residents and thousands of businesses across central Contra Costa County through the operation and maintenance of critical wastewater infrastructure and treatment facilities; and
WHEREAS, Central San has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to environmental stewardship, sustainability, innovation, and responsible resource management through advanced wastewater treatment, recycled water programs, and efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect local waterways; and
