RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute on behalf of the Health Services Director, a purchase order with Computacenter United States Inc. in an amount not to exceed $1,510,400 for the purchase of Cisco computer switches, and hardware and software support and maintenance services for the period from July 29, 2024, through July 28, 2029.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this action will result in expenditures of up to $1,510,400 over a five-year period and will be funded by Hospital Enterprise Fund I revenues.
BACKGROUND:
Contra Costa Health Services is purchasing new Cisco N520, 9300 and 9500 switches to replace End-of-Life, End-of-Support switches. The switches being replaced are located at the Data Center in Pittsburg CA, Contra Costa Regional Medical Center in Martinez CA, and various clinics.
The support provided by Cisco for this purchase will be governed by the Cisco Letter Agreement dated December 15, 2021, between Cisco Systems, Inc., and Contra Costa County.
On October 24th, 2023, the Board of Supervisors approved agenda C.52 to execute purchase order #29156 with Computacenter United States Inc. in the amount of $456,818 for the period from October 31, 2023 through October 30, 2024, and a Computacenter Master Services Agreement, for the period from October 31, 2023 through October 30, 2024 for Citrix software licenses. The Computacenter Master Services Agreement, dated November 14, 2023, also governs this this purchase.
A Request for Proposal (RFP) was conducted to solicit bids for these Cisco Switches. After a thorough evaluation Computacenter United States Inc. was selected as the preferred vendor BID #CCC2024-HSD-1.
