Report Title:                     Lease amendment with RPE Muir, LLC for 1320 Arnold Drive, Suites 246, 256, and 266, Martinez

Recommendation of the County Administrator Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a lease amendment with RPE Muir, LLC for space the County currently leases at 1320 Arnold Drive, in Martinez, to add approximately 1,810 square feet of office space, for a total of approximately 3,206 square feet of office space, and to extend the initial term by three years, for a new initial term of eight years with a renewal option, with rent for the first eight months of the expansion of $50,304, with annual increases thereafter, as requested by the Health Services Department, Office of Director/Personnel.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% Hospital Enterprise Fund I

BACKGROUND:

Personnel, a division of the Health Services Department, has occupied Suite 266 since 2015, performing transactions for onboarding new hire employees, processing probation/merit increases, and exiting employees. The space also serves to conduct Oral Boards for the Personnel Division. The proposed amendment to the lease will increase the available square footage by approximately 1,810 square feet, which will expand and improve the working space for this group.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The County would need to find a different location to accommodate the expansion of this group.
