IN THE MATTER OF recognizing Linda Martinez on the occasion of her retirement from Contra Costa County.

WHEREAS, Linda Martinez began her career in Contra Costa County on March 2, 1992, as an Account Clerk-Beginning Level in the Auditor-Controller's office and was promoted to Account Clerk-Experienced Level on April 1, 1993; and

WHEREAS, on February 2, 1994, Linda transferred to the County Counsel's office as an Account Clerk-Experienced Level and was then promoted to Advanced Level on December 1,1994; and

WHEREAS, on December 1, 1997, she was promoted to Administrative Analyst at the Public Works Department, advanced to Administrative Services Assistant II on June 1,1999, and was again promoted to Administrative Services Assistant III on January 1, 2001; and

WHEREAS, on September 1, 2010, Linda accepted a promotion to Director of Support Services for the Office of the Sheriff; and

WHEREAS, on February 18, 2014, Linda was promoted into her final position with the County as Administrative Services Officer for the Library; and

WHEREAS, Linda has been a critical and valuable member of the Library's Leadership team; and

WHEREAS, Linda developed and submitted balanced and sound budgets for the Library Department for 10 years, and determined the Library's budget could bear and support increasing base weekly Library open hours from 35 to 40, a significant service level increase benefitting all library patrons; and
