RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #26-684-9 with Epic Care, a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $2,300,000, to provide oncology and hematology services for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and Contra Costa Health Center patients, for the period July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2027.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this Contract will result in contractual service expenditures of up to $2,300,000 over a three-year period and will be funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I revenues.

BACKGROUND:
Due to limited number of specialty providers available within the community, CCRMC and Health Centers rely on contractors to provide necessary specialty health services to their patients. This contractor has been providing oncology and hematology services, for CCRMC patients since November 2010. This Contract is entered into under and subject to the following legal authorities: California Government Code ?? 26227 and 31000; and Health and Safety Code ? 1451. Health Services Personnel approved this Contract to ensure no conflicts with labor relations in March 2023. Per Administrative Bulletin 600.3 CCRMC Physician services are exempt from Solicitation requirements. CCRMC's Quality Management, Utilization Management and Contract Monitor staff meet on a regular basis to ensure monitoring and performance measures in the Contract are upheld.

On July 27, 2021, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-684-8 with Epic Care, in an amount not to exceed $2,300,000, for the provision of oncology services for CCRMC and Health Center patients, for the period July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2024.
