IN THE MATTER OF Resolution recognizing Walnut Creek Mayor Loella Haskew

Whereas, Loella Haskew was elected to the Walnut City Council in November 2012. She is currently serving as Mayor and she previously served as Mayor in 2016 and 2020. She also served on the Community Blue Ribbon Task Force on Fiscal Health and the Arts Vision Task Force and is a Walnut Creek Citizens Institute graduate; and

Whereas, when Loella was Mayor in 2020 she played an important role in working with the County and other cities to establish the A3, Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere program which provides an alternative to police in a mental health crisis, with calls being responded through the A3 Miles Hall Crisis Call Center; and

Whereas, during the COVID-19 Pandemic Loella worked diligently to help Walnut Creek businesses and restaurants navigate the many health orders restricting activities, and with her City Council found ways to support the Walnut Creek businesses community; and

Whereas, Loella has an extensive history of community service. Currently, she serves on the board of directors for the Kennedy-King Memorial College Scholarship Fund. She is a past member of the board of directors of the Diablo Regional Arts Association; and prior to joining the DRAA board, she served as a trustee for the organization; and
