RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 26494 to transition one (1) Mental Health Specialist II-Project (VQV1) position #14245 at salary plan and grade TC2 1262 ($5,919.87-$8,364.62) and its incumbent into the Merit System classification of Mental Health Specialist II (VQVA) at salary plan and grade TC2 1284 ($6,050.23-$8,548.82) in the Health Services Department. (Represented)
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost increase of $3,549.96 with an annual increase in pension costs of $518.61. (100% Mental Health Realignment).
BACKGROUND:
The Health Services Department is requesting to transition one Mental Health Specialist II-Project position #14245 and its incumbent (EE ID 94834) into the merit system. The incumbent meets the provisions for transition from project into the merit system in accordance with PMR Section 1603.1 - Transfer of Project Positions.
Section 1603.1 of the Personnel Management Regulations states that when the Board of Supervisors establishes as regular service a program initially established by the Board for a specific limited period as part of an approved project, employees who have served in project positions for at least one (1) year shall be included in the merit system if the Director of Human Resources recommends such inclusion and allocates the position to a class in the classification plan, the Board of Supervisors approves the classification and addition of the position to the merit system, and if the employee was originally appointed to the project position from an eligible list on an open competitive basis.
