Report Title: Payment for Services Provided by Philips Healthcare
☒Recommendation of the County Administrator ☐ Recommendation of Board Committee
RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Auditor-Controller, or designee, to pay an amount not to exceed $4,714 to Philips North America LLC dba Philips Healthcare for repair services of the patient monitoring system at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) during the period of February 22, 2024 through August 29, 2024.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this action will result in budgeted expenditures of up to $4,714 and will be funded by Hospital Enterprise Fund I revenues.
BACKGROUND:
In early 2024, CCRMC began experiencing issues with the patient monitoring system in the Intensive Care Unit which required manufacturer intervention on three separate occasions. CCRMC staff contacted Philips for assistance but were unaware at the time that an agreement with Philips was not in place to cover the critical repair work needed for the system. As a result, CCRMC needs to settle outstanding invoices received from Philips Healthcare for services already rendered.
Philips North America LLC dba Philips Healthcare is the manufacturer of the patient monitoring system used at CCRMC and Health Centers. The monitoring system is critical to enhance efficiencies and patient outcomes, allowing provider access to more clinical support tools and synthesizing clinical data to help providers stratify high-risk patients, connect and collaborate on decisions, and initiate rapid and appropriate interventions.
CCRMC staff are currently working with Philips to establish an agreement to cover future repair services.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action is not approved, Philips Healthcare will not be paid for services rendered.
