RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the Public Works Director, a participating addendum with ATS Traffic Ltd., in an amount not to exceed $3,000,000, for the purchase of safety and traffic management equipment and related products for use by the Public Works Department, during the period of October 7, 2025 through June 27, 2029 under the terms of the Master Contract awarded by Sourcewell, a State of Minnesota public agency.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% Local Road Funds
BACKGROUND:
Contra Costa Purchasing Services is requesting approval of a Participating Addendum for the purchase of traffic management equipment and related products offered through ATS Traffic Ltd Products are guaranteed through the master contract awarded by Sourcewell, a State of Minnesota public agency Contract No. 042225-ATST. Approval of the addendum between Contra Costa County and ATS Traffic Ltd., allows the County to obtain guaranteed pricing available through the Sourcewell contract No. 042225-ATST. The purchase will support Public Works Road Maintenance with the purchase of safety and traffic management equipment and related products and will provide significant discounts from off-list pricing.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Without approval of this agreement, Public Works Road Maintenance would be paying full price on purchases of public safety communications technology and hardware solutions.
