Report Title:                     Blanket Purchase Order with Insight Public Sector

Recommendation of the County Administrator Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Agricultural Commissioner, to execute a blanket purchase order with Insight Public Sector in the amount not to exceed $14,999 for the purchase of hardware and software facilitating the collection of agricultural data and issuing community communications for the period of December 1, 2025, through November 30, 2027.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The cost of these products is included in the Department’s FY 2025-2026 budget. 100% General Fund.

BACKGROUND:

Contra Costa County Agricultural Biologists/Weights & Measures Inspectors are responsible for conducting inspections and having the ability to send communications while out in the field. The purchase of updated hardware and software will ensure the ability to do this without any hinderance.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If not approved, the Department will not be able to conduct inspections required by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation for the programs we support and are unable to provide the type of customer service the community depends on.
