BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY
POSTHUMOUS RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE CONTRIBUTIONS
OF MS. CURLIE JACKSON

WHEREAS, Curlie Jackson was born and raised in Glenmora, Louisiana, and moved to Pittsburg, California in 1955 with her family. She was married to the late General Jackson for over 25 years, and together they raised seven children: James, Samuel, Jimmy, Richard, Linda, Isaac, and Donald. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Jackson was employed at the Pittsburg Unified School District (PUSD) for thirty-two years as a Parent Coordinator and worked for ten years at the Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall in Martinez, California, as a Youth Counselor. She continued her education and received an Associate Degree in 1975 from Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, California, and attended Los Medanos College in Pittsburg, amassing over 40 credit hours towards a degree in Psychology and Social Science; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Jackson retired from PUSD as a Parent Coordinator and Student Advisor in 2005, yet she never retired from serving others, known for her sacrifices in service to others and her unwavering passion and devotion to the welfare of others; and
