RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPOINT, in lieu of election, John Jackson and Thomas Robinson to the Board of Trustees of Reclamation District No. 2024 (Orwood and Palm Tracts) for terms ending December 2027.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
BACKGROUND:
The Board of Supervisors received correspondence from Dante Nomellini, District Secretary and Counsel for Reclamation District 2024 (Orwood and Palm Tracts), requesting appointments to the Board of Trustees of the District in lieu of election. Mr. Nomellini reports that pursuant to a notice calling for nomination petitions for two positions on the Board of Trustees, the District received two nomination petitions. No petition requesting an election has been received. Therefore, no election will be conducted and at this time the District requests that the Board of Supervisors appoint John Jackson and Thomas Robinson to the Board of Trustees of Reclamation District 2024, for terms ending December 2027.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The proposed nominees to the Board of Trustees for Reclamation District 2024 would not be approved, which may hinder the Board of Trustees in achieving a quorum and conducting District business.
