RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute a purchase order and agreement on behalf of the County Librarian with Data 443, in an amount not to exceed $35,000 for the purchase and installation of Ransomware Recovery Manager (Formerly Smart Shield) Enterprise, for the period June 12, 2024 through June 11, 2026.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% Library Fund.
BACKGROUND:
The library currently uses Ransomware Recovery Manager (Formerly Smart Shield) Enterprise to maintain and manage public access computers. This product provides instantaneous full device and data restoring and recovery for public access computers. This renewal would enable the library to continue to offer public access computers throughout our 28 locations.
The contract includes limitation of liability and indemnification provisions that were approved by County Counsel.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If the Purchase Order is not approved, the Contra Costa County Library will not be able to maintain our public access computers.
