Information:

For Homelessness Awareness Month (HAM), the COH recognizes a variety of entities for outstanding contributions to people experiencing homelessness. 

 

 

Referral History and Update:

Recognition Categories: Following feedback from last year, revisions to the categories for nominations, descriptions, eligibility and nomination solicitation forms have been reviewed by the Committee. The Committee discussed a number of ways to improve both the nominating and recognition process to increase value of the recognition and improve the reception that is held to recognize HAM and nominees.

Timeline

                     8/4: HAM Committee meeting to finalize nomination materials and aims to have nomination solicitation launch 8/5. 

                     October: HAM Committee meeting to move from 10/6 to before 9/25 to review nominations in time to post for 10/1 COH meeting

                     10/1: COH to approve nominations   

 

Resolutions of Support: Resolutions of Support for Homelessness Awareness Month and Homeless Person’s Memorial are used as education and advocacy tools with the Board of Supervisors and also by other elected bodies. Revisions made to include reference to impact of cuts to safety net and update data points.
