IN THE MATTER OF proclaiming National Health Center Week in Contra Costa County August 2 through August 8, 2026:
WHEREAS, National Health Center Week celebrates the theme "Building Innovative Care Where It Matters Most" and recognizes the vital role Community Health Centers have played as a cornerstone of the nation's healthcare safety net for more than 60 years; and
WHEREAS, in addition to the health centers operated directly by the County, 6.3% of residents receive healthcare services as patients at one of the three private Community Health Centers in Contra Costa County, LifeLong Medical Care, La Clinica, and Brighter Beginnings, who together provided 166,462 patients visits in 2025; and
WHEREAS, collectively, these three Community Health Centers provide comprehensive medical, dental, behavioral health, preventive, and supportive services throughout the county that improve access to care for children, families, older adults, unhoused people and other underserved populations; and
WHEREAS, Contra Costa County's Community Health Centers work in close partnership with the hospitals, schools, and community-based non-profits to advance health equity, promote prevention, coordinate care, and improve the overall health and well-being of residents; and
