RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT Resolution calling and noticing an election to fill seat numbers Nos. 3 (General), 7 (Safety), and 7 Alternate (Safety) on the Contra Costa County Employees' Retirement Association Board of Trustees (Retirement Board), as recommended by the Retirement Board.

FISCAL IMPACT:
The costs of the election are reimbursed by the Contra Costa County Employees' Retirement Association.

BACKGROUND:
The following seats on the Contra Costa County Employees' Retirement Association Board of Trustees (Retirement Board) are scheduled to become vacant on June 30, 2026, when the current terms of office will expire:



The Internal Operations Committee of the Board of Supervisors conducts recruitment to fill vacancies of Retirement Board seats appointed by the Board of Supervisors. Elections must be conducted to fill the other pending vacancies. It is recommended, therefore, that the Board of Supervisors adopt the attached resolution to set in motion the election procedure to fill seat numbers 3, 7, and 7 Alternate. The recommended procedure is consistent with prior Retirement Board elections and the proposed timetable has been approved by the Assistant County Registrar of Voters.

Government Code Section 31520.1 provides in part: "The second and third members of the board shall be members of the association, other than safety members, elected by those members within 30 days after the retirement system becomes operative in a manner determined by the board of supervisors," and "The seventh member shall be a safety member of the association elected by the safety members.
