Report Title:                      Contract with Future Automotive Concord Inc. for Dodge and Chrysler Fleet Automotive Maintenance and Repair Services, Countywide.

Recommendation: Recommendation of the County Administrator

RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract with Future Automotive Concord, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $1,000,000, to provide Dodge and Chrysler fleet automotive maintenance and repair services for the period of October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2029, Countywide.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% Fleet Internal Service Fund

BACKGROUND:

Public Works Fleet Services manages maintenance and repair operations for more than 1,700 vehicles, which include Dodge and Chrysler models. Most of the work is performed by fleet staff but a vendor is necessary to provide overflow support during periods of high workload, at times of staffing gaps, and specialty repairs that require OEM-certified equipment.

In February 2025, the Public Works Department conducted a formal solicitation for Dodge and Chrysler fleet automotive maintenance and repair services, posting the Request for Proposal on BidNet Direct (RFP_F-Contr-0000000192). Future Automotive Concord Inc. d/b/a Future CDJR of Concord was the sole and qualified vendor awarded the contract.

Fleet Services is requesting approval of a service contract with Future Automotive Concord Inc. d/b/a Future CDJR of Concord for the term October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2029 in the amount of $1,000,000.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Without approval of this contract, no vendor would be available to service and repair the fleet’s Dodge and Chrysler models, potentially disrupting Countywide fleet operations.
