Report Title: ADOPT Traffic Resolution No. 2026/4559 to prohibit stopping, standing, or parking on a portion of Kendall Avenue, as recommended by the Public Works Director, Crockett area.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT Traffic Resolution No. 2026/4559 to prohibit stopping, standing, or parking at all times on the north side of Kendall Avenue (Road No. 2295B), beginning at 153 feet west of the west curb edge of Virginia Street (Road No. 2295F) and extending westerly a distance of 30 feet, Crockett area.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact.
BACKGROUND:
The Transportation Engineering Division received a report from a Crockett resident regarding difficulty for vehicles navigating the hairpin curve from Columbus Avenue to Kendall Avenue. The resident indicated that multiple vehicles have been parking long-term along the curb on Kendall Avenue, requiring drivers to make several backing maneuvers to complete the turn. They also noted that the Sheriff's Office has previously issued citations and warnings to vehicles parked in this area.
County Traffic Engineering staff conducted a site visit and observed multiple vehicles parked along the north side of Kendall Avenue at Columbus Avenue. These parked vehicles were found to obstruct the turning path for vehicles traveling from Columbus Avenue onto eastbound Kendall Avenue.
Staff also contacted the Sheriff's Parking Enforcement Unit to verify prior service calls. The Sheriff's office confirmed repeated parking issues at this location and requested that the County consider restricting parking to improve access for emergency vehicles through the hairpin turn and reduce future service calls.
Based on staff observations and input from the Sheriff's Office, the Transportation Engineering Division recommends prohibiting parking at this location to improve overall traffic safety....
