RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract Amendment Agreement #76-506-16 with Robert Liebig, M.D., an individual, effective November 1, 2023, to amend Contract #76-506-15 to increase the payment limit by $690,000, from $2,610,000 to a new payment limit of $3,300,000, with no change in the original term of January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2025.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this amendment will result in additional expenditures of up to $690,000 and will be funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I revenues. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
Due to the limited number of specialty providers available within the community, Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and Contra Costa Health Centers relies on contracts to provide necessary specialty health services to its patients. Contractor provides radiology services including, but not limited to: consultation, on-call coverage, and interpretation of computed tomography scans, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasounds, invasive procedures and plain films at CCRMC and Health Centers. CCRMC has contracted with Robert Liebig, M.D., for radiology specialty services since April 2003.
On February 7, 2023, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #76-506-15 with Robert Liebig, M.D., in an amount not to exceed $2,610,000 for the provision of radiology services at CCRMC and Health Centers for the period January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2025.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #76-506-16 will allow the contractor to provide additional radiology services through December 31, 2025.
