RECOMMENDATIONS:

AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to advertise for the 2024 On-Call Fencing Services Contract(s) for Various Road Maintenance, Flood Control, and Facilities Maintenance Work to provide fencing services including, but not limited to, installation, repair, replacement, or removal of fences and gates.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% Local Road, Flood Control, and General Funds.

 

BACKGROUND:

Contra Costa County Public Works Maintenance Division maintains over 660 miles of roads, 79 miles of creeks and channels, and 29 detention basins and dams throughout Contra Costa County.

 

The Public Works Department will use the On-Call Fencing Services Contract(s) for Various Road Maintenance, Flood Control, and Facilities Maintenance Work to provide supplemental services, as needed, to the Public Works maintenance crews for routine road, flood control, and facilities maintenance and repairs in various locations throughout Contra Costa County.

 

The Public Works Department intends to award at least one (1) $400,000 contract, but not more than four (4) $400,000 contracts to the responsible bidder(s). Each contract will have a term of one year with the option of two one-year extensions and will be used, as needed, with no minimum amount that has to be spent.

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The Public Works Department may be unable to complete routine road, flood control, and/or facilities maintenance work in a timely manner.
