In the matter of recognizing Marisela Villezcas as the 2026 Youth Hall of Fame Awardee for Volunteerism
WHEREAS, Marisela Villezcas has demonstrated extraordinary dedication to community service and compassion through her volunteer work supporting families in need within the Martinez community; and
WHEREAS, Marisela began volunteering with the St. Catherine of Siena St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in 2020 as a seventh-grade student during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, stepping forward to serve her community during a time of great uncertainty; and
WHEREAS, for more than six years, Marisela has consistently volunteered two to three Saturdays each month, dedicating hundreds of hours to assisting with food distribution and supporting neighbors experiencing food insecurity; and
WHEREAS, Marisela has demonstrated a deep commitment to service by prioritizing her volunteer work even during significant personal events, reflecting an extraordinary level of maturity and dedication to helping others; and
WHEREAS, Marisela plays an important role in ensuring all members of the community feel welcomed and supported through her bilingual abilities, frequently assisting Spanish-speaking families by translating during pantry check-in and distribution; and
