Report Title: Add two (2) Elections Outreach Specialist Positions

RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 26257 to add two (2) Elections Outreach Specialist (EBHA) positions at salary plan and grade ZA5 1406 ($6,010 - $7,305) in the Clerk-Recorder-Elections Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% General Fund. The salary and benefit costs associated with these positions will be offset with appropriated Measure X funding and are within the Department’s operating budget.
BACKGROUND:
On December 12, 2023, the Board of Supervisors approved the Department’s request for Measure X funding to create two dedicated positions for elections education and engagement. These positions will aid in the Department’s outreach efforts to spur voter participation throughout the county.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The Department would not have dedicated positions to fulfill the action previously approved by the Board of Supervisors and would lack the capacity to execute its planned outreach activities.
