RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT a Resolution honoring Battalion Chief Gilbert Guerrero the occasion of his retirement from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.

IN THE MATTER OF honoring Gilbert Guerrero, Battalion Chief, upon his retirement from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District after 28 years of service with Contra Costa County,
WHEREAS, Gilbert Guerrero began his service with Contra Costa County as a Volunteer Firefighter on October 1, 1996; and
WHEREAS, Gilbert Guerrero was hired as a Full-time Regular Firefighter at East Contra Costa County Fire Protection District on September 26, 2002; and
WHEREAS, Gilbert Guerrero was promoted to Fire Engineer on September 1, 2005; and
WHEREAS, Gilbert Guerrero was promoted to Fire Captain on September 1, 2006; and
WHEREAS, Gilbert Guerrero was annexed to Contra Costa County Fire Protection District and promoted to Battalion Chief on July 1, 2022; and
WHEREAS, Battalion Chief Gilbert Guerrero began his career with the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District as a Reserve Firefighter in September 1996; and
WHEREAS, He served as a Career Firefighter with East Diablo Fire starting in September 2002 and subsequently held various ranks, including Firefighter, Engineer, Captain, and Battalion Chief with East Contra Costa; and
WHEREAS, Chief Guerrero has served as a Battalion Chief with Contra Costa Fire, where he has been a dedicated leader mentor; and
WHEREAS, He served fifteen years on the United Professional Firefighters of Contra Costa County Local 1230 Executive Board, with fourteen years as Vice President, advoca...
