IN THE MATTER OF Recognizing the Retirement of Wanda McAdoo from Contra Costa County

WHEREAS, Wanda McAdoo graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, where she was a star track and field athlete, and received a Master of Public Administration degree from Cal State Hayward in 1992; and
WHEREAS, before coming to the County Counsel's Office on April 1, 2003, Wanda had more than 15 years' experience in office management, personnel administration, and budget analysis with a prestigious law firm in Oakland; and
WHEREAS, Wanda was hired as an Administrative Services Assistant II, was steadily promoted over the years, and is retiring as Chief of Administrative Services I; and
WHEREAS, Wanda ran the day-to-day administrative operations of the County Counsel's Office, where she directly supervised the office's legal support teams and was responsible for systems management in the office, including records management, library management, office automation, document management, litigation support, and other systems management functions; and
WHEREAS, Wanda excelled at budget management, and her budget expertise was invaluable in balancing and completing the County Counsel's Office budget on time for 23 consecutive years; and
