Report Title:                     ADOPT Traffic Resolution No. 2026/4551 to prohibit stopping, standing, or parking on a portion of Del Mar Circle, as recommended by the Public Works Director, Crockett area. (No fiscal impact)

Recommendation of the County Administrator Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:

ADOPT Traffic Resolution No. 2026/4551 to prohibit stopping, standing, or parking at all times on the southern end of Del Mar Circle (Road No. 2295BG), beginning on the east side of Del Mar Circle at 7th Avenue (Road No. 2295H) and extending northwesterly a distance of 90 feet;

THENCE, on the southern end of Del Mar Circle (Road No. 2295BG), beginning on the west side of Del Mar Circle at 7th Avenue (Road No. 2295H) and extending northwesterly a distance of 110 feet, Crockett area.

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact.

BACKGROUND:

A resident of Crockett contacted the Transportation Engineering Division reporting that vehicles are having difficulty navigating the curve on the south end of Del Mar Circle, due to vehicles parked on both sides of the road.

County Traffic Engineering staff responded by conducting a site visit. Staff observed multiple vehicles parked on both the east and west side of the roadway, obstructing sight lines and reducing the ability of vehicles to ingress/egress the south end of Del Mar Circle.

Therefore, the Public Works Department recommends that parking be prohibited at these locations to improve access and traffic safety.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Parking will remain unrestricted at this location.
