Report Title: Accept Library Foundation of Contra Costa Donation for Increasing Various Collections.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the County Librarian, or designee, to accept a donation of $20,000 from LFCC to increase the Library’s Chinese, Filipino and Vietnamese print collections.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$20,000 Library Fund
BACKGROUND:
The Library Department has received a donation from LFCC in the amount of $20,000 to increase the Library’s Chinese, Filipino and Vietnamese print collections. The donation will be made in three increments: $6,000 on 4/1/2025, $7,000 on July 1, 2025 and $7,000 on October 1, 2025. The goal is to expand the Chinese collection by 2-3%, the Filipino collection by 20-25% and the Vietnamese collection by 55-70%.
Per Administrative bulletin 117.7, Gifts and Bequests to the County, "receipt of each gift or bequest having a value of $10,000 or more requires acceptance or rejection by the Board of Supervisors."
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The Library will be unable to receive the donation revenue.
