Report Title: Final Settlement of Claim, Edward Todd vs. Contra Costa County

RECOMMENDATIONS:
RECEIVE this report concerning the final settlement of Edward Todd and AUTHORIZE payment from the Workers' Compensation Internal Service Fund in an amount not to exceed $100,000.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Workers' Compensation Internal Service Fund payment of $100,000.
BACKGROUND:
Attorney Christian S. Gronebreg, defense counsel for the County, has advised the County Administrator that within authorization an agreement has been reached settling the workers' compensation claim of Edward Todd v. Contra Costa County. The Board's March 31, 2026 closed session vote was: Supervisors Gioia, Andersen, Burgis, Carlson and Scales-Preston - Yes. This action is taken so that the terms of this final settlement and the earlier March 31, 2026 closed session vote of this Board authorizing its negotiated settlement are known publicly.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Case will not be settled.
