Report Title:                     Purchase Order with T-Mobile USA, Inc.

Recommendation of the County Administrator Recommendation of Board Committee

RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Chief Information Officer, to execute a purchase order with T-Mobile USA, Inc., subject to the terms of the NASPO ValuePoint Master Agreement and Participating Addendum, in an amount not to exceed $24,900 for purchase of mobility equipment and accessories for the period of October 21, 2025, through May 22, 2027.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The cost of this product is included in the Department’s FY 25-26 budget, 100% User Departments.

BACKGROUND:

The Department of Information Technology’s (DoIT) Telecommunications Division manages the procurement of mobility equipment and accessories for most County departments. T-Mobile provides a broad selection of products, services, and plans. Their customer service is responsive, ensuring quick issue resolution and fast device activation. Additionally, T-Mobile does not impose penalties for discontinuing service on a device and prorates charges accordingly. Their extensive network coverage enables reliable phone calls and remote computer access, even in areas where other carriers may lack service.

The purchase order is governed by the terms and conditions of NASPO ValuePoint Master Agreement #MA176 and Participating Addendum #PA-2022-WDV-TMUS, which includes a limitation of liability for T-Mobile.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Without T-Mobile’s services, the County risks reduced connectivity in key areas, slower issue resolution, higher costs due to fewer billing flexibilities, and limited device and plan options. This could hinder productivity, delay operations, and impact service delivery across departments.
