ADOPT a resolution recognizing MLK Day 2024 Student Humanitarian Noor Tozulahmad.

IN THE MATTER OF recognizing MLK Day 2024 Student Humanitarian Noor Tozulahmad.
WHEREAS, Noor Tozulahmad is an 11th grade student at Dougherty Valley High School;
WHEREAS, Noor Tozulahmad left his family at the age of 6 due to his home country having been torn apart by conflict;
WHEREAS, Noor Tozulahmad spent three years in Malaysia in unstable living conditions before immigrating to America;
WHEREAS, Noor Tozulahmad co-founded Plate to People with the goal to combat food waste, make a positive impact on the environment and serve surplus food to homeless individuals;
WHEREAS, Noor Tozulahmad has learned the value of food, resilience, compassion, and the potential for positive change in the face of adversity; and
WHEREAS, Noor Tozulahmad embodies the spirit and values of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and is recognized as a 2024 MLK Day Student Humanitarian.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does hereby recognize Noor Tozulahmad for receiving its 2024 Student Humanitarian Award, as recommended by the MLK Day Committee.
