Probation offers a safe, cost-effective and transformative alternative to incarceration, empowering individuals to make positive changes and embark on a journey toward a brighter future and safer communities.

Probation Departments have a profound impact on the safety and health of our communities by working to address the underlying causes of crime, by providing evidence-based supervision and individualized rehabilitative supports and services which reduce recidivism. Probation fosters a safer environment for all Californians to live and prosper, by ensuring those reentering our communities after justice involvement have received the support, services, and tools necessary to be successful.

WHEREAS, Probation utilizes an accountability lens as a connector and bridge for justice-involved individuals to receive the individualized rehabilitative services they need to be successful; and
