RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Family Caregiver Alliance to increase the payment limit by $39,319, for Title III-E Family Caregiver Support Program, to an amount not to exceed $329,119 with no change to the term.

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

$39,319: Funded 62% Federal funds, 38% State funds, all of which is budgeted in FY 23-24. 

 

 

BACKGROUND:

On February 6, 2024, the Board approved item C.46. authorizing the execution of a contract with Family Caregiver Alliance for a term of July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024.  This amendment is to apply one-time-only funds from the California Department of Aging for the Title III-E Family Caregiver Support Program. This contract was procured via Request for Proposal (RFP) 1198 which followed the protocol outlined in Administrative Bulletin 600.3. 

 

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

 

Should the proposed action not be approved by the Board of Supervisors, the County will not be able to provide family caregivers with the additional support they need to continue to provide caregiving for the older adults.

 

CHILDREN’S IMPACT STATEMENT:

This contract supports one of Contra Costa County’s community outcomes of the Children’s Report Card”: (4) "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing".
