Report Title:                     ADOPT POSITION ADJUSTMENT RESOLUTION NO. 26302 IMPLEMENTING REORGANIZATION OF SUPERVISORIAL DISTRICT II STAFFING

RECOMMENDATIONS:

 

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 26302 to add one (1) full-time Board of Supervisors Assistant - Specialist (J994) (unrepresented) position.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

$187,115 in total compensation costs, including approximately $27,029 in employer pension costs. 100% General Fund.                                          

 

BACKGROUND:

 

Upon the retirement of the former Chief of Staff, Board of Supervisors - Specialist an internal candidate was promoted to Chief of Staff resulting in a vacancy. District II conducted a recruitment that resulted in two qualified candidates, including one for the vacant Board of Supervisors - General Secretary position and another at the level of Board of Supervisors - Specialist.

 

Today’s action adds one (1) Board of Supervisors Assistant - Specialist position effective on July 23, 2024 to allow the District office to hire additional staff at the end of July as part of a larger restructuring of District II personnel following the retirement of the former Chief of Staff.

 

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

 

The District will be unable to hire qualified staff to support District operations.
