Report Title: Purchase Order and Software License Agreement with GPS Vehicle Tracking Solutions, LLC
Recommendation: Recommendation of the County Administrator
RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent or designee to execute, on behalf of the District Attorney, a Purchase Order and Software License Agreement with GPS Vehicle Tracking Solutions, LLC, in an amount not to exceed $6,024 for the usage of a software tracking tool to support investigative and operational safety purposes for the period June 14, 2027 through June 13, 2028.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this action will result in expenditures of up to $6,024 which have been included in the Department’s FY26-27 Budget.
BACKGROUND:
The District Attorney’s Office uses this specialized software tracking tool from GPS Vehicle Tracking Solutions, LLC, to advance field operations and investigative efforts. The platform allows departmental personnel to conduct authorized mobile location tracking, asset monitoring and evidence gathering in support of official casework and staff safety.
Approval of the purchase order and related Software License Agreement will allow the District Attorney’s Office to use the software for investigative tracking and asset monitoring for operational safety purposes. This Software License Agreement includes limitations of liability and indemnification under which the County agrees to hold GPS Vehicle Tracking Solutions, LLC, harmless from any claims arising out of the performance of this agreement.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Without executing the purchase order and related Software License Agreement with GPS Vehicle Tracking Solutions, LLC, the District Attorney’s Office cannot utilize the software to effectively conduct field operations and investigations.
