Report Title: Accept Friends of the Walnut Creek Library Donation for supporting library collections.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the County Librarian, or designee, to accept a donation in the amount of $12,000 from Friends of the Walnut Creekl Library to support library collections.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$12,000 Library Fund. No County match is required.
BACKGROUND:
The Library Department has received a $12,000 donation from Friends of the Walnut Creek Library to increase eBook and eAudiobook collections. Per Administrative bulletin 117.7, Gifts and Bequests to the County, "receipt of each gift or bequest having a value of $10,000 or more requires acceptance or rejection by the Board of Supervisors."
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The Library will be unable to receive the donation revenue.
