RECOMMENDATIONS:

 

APPOINT Nakenya Allen to the District V Seat on the Contra Costa Commission for Women and Girls, for a term ending on February 28, 2029, DECLARE a vacancy in the At-Large 8 Seat for a term ending February 28, 2027, and DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to post the vacancy as recommended by Supervisor Scales-Preston.

BACKGROUND:

 

The Contra Costa Commission for Women and Girls (CCCWG) was established to educate the community and advise the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors on issues related to the changing social and economic conditions affecting women and girls in Contra Costa County, with particular emphasis on those who are economically disadvantaged. The Commission’s mission is to improve the economic status, social welfare, and overall quality of life for women and girls throughout Contra Costa County.

 

The Commission is composed of 16 appointed members serving four-year term, including 15 members (five District Appointees and 10 At-Large members) and one alternate.

 

Meetings are held monthly, generally on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m., at 3338 Mt. Diablo Boulevard, Lafayette, CA 94549. All meetings are open to the public.

 

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

 

The suggested appointee will not be able to serve on the Contra Costa Commission of Women and Girls
