RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute the Agreement for Joint Road Pavement Maintenance Overlay between Contra Costa County and the City of Lafayette, effective June 4, 2024, to reimburse the City for costs related to the roadway overlay of Pleasant Hill Road in unincorporated Lafayette, District IV.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The County will reimburse the City of Lafayette for costs associated with the pavement overlay work in unincorporated Lafayette. (100% Local Road Funds)
BACKGROUND:
The Contra Costa County Public Works Department and City of Lafayette wish to make a joint agreement to complete pavement maintenance overlay work in our mutual jurisdictions. The City is willing to take the lead to advertise and award a contract to complete this work and include the County’s portion of Pleasant Hill Road as part of the overall project. Per the agreement, the County will reimburse the City for costs associated with the overlay work.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The Joint Road Pavement Maintenance Overlay agreement would not be approved and the City would not be responsible for the overlay of the County's portion of Pleasant Hill Road in unincorporated Lafayette.
