ADOPT a Resolution recognizing the contributions of Craig Standafer on the occasion of his retirement from Contra Costa County, as recommended by the Public Works Director

IN THE MATTER OF Recognizing the contributions of Craig Standafer on the occasion of his retirement from Contra Costa County.

WHEREAS, in 1998 Craig Standafer received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a concentration in construction from University of California; and

WHEREAS, in 2002, Craig started his career with the Public Works Department as an Engineer - Entry in the Design Division, and then rotated to the Flood Control Division, then Engineering Services, and ended his career in the Transportation Engineering Division; and

WHEREAS, Craig was promoted to Engineer- Journey in 2004, promoted to Engineer - Project in 2021, and promoted to Associate Civil Engineer in the Transportation Engineering Division in 2023; and

WHEREAS, Craig completed the American Public Works Association Public Works Institute, Modules 1 through 4, a program of instruction in Public Works Supervision and Management which focusses on developing management, supervisory, and leadership skills among public works managers; and

WHEREAS, Craig was part of the team that received a nomination for the 2022 Michael Walford Team of the Year for Vision Zero. Vision Zero is the elimination of severe injuries and fatalities resulting from traffic collisions on ...
