RECOMMENDATIONS:
ADOPT a resolution declaring January 2024 as Eligibility Worker Month in Contra Costa County.

There is no fiscal impact for this action.

BACKGROUND:
Eligibility Worker Month is an opportunity to recognize our County's Eligibility Workers in various classifications who are on the frontlines of supporting the well-being of our residents, helping them meet basic needs such as food, healthcare, and childcare. Eligibility Workers administer CalFresh, CalWORKs, Childcare, Welfare-to-Work, Medi-Cal, General Assistance, Foster Care, Adoption Assistance, and KinGAP programs.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT
Eligibility work supports all five community outcomes established in the Children's Report Card: "Children Ready for and Succeeding in School;" "Children and Youth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood;" "Families that are Economically Self Sufficient;" "Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing;" and "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families."
