Referral History:

The California Department of Education, Early Education and Support Division, requires every county to develop a child care needs assessment of early education and before-and after-school programs for their jurisdictions at least every five (5) years (ref. CA Education Code section 8499.5). The Child Care Planning Council of Contra Costa County has prepared the attached report not only to satisfy this requirement, but also to help inform child care policies and priorities based on the current status of child care in the County. The needs assessment requires Board of Supervisors approval.
