RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, a Participating Addendum with Global Rental Company, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $3,000,000, for the distribution of rental equipment, products and services for use by Public Works Fleet Services, for the period of July 8, 2025 through June 8, 2028, under the terms of the Master Contract awarded by Sourcewell, and distributed through Global Rental Company, Inc., Countywide.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Product and service costs paid by Public Works Fleet Services (100% Fleet Internal Service Fund)
BACKGROUND:
Contra Costa County Purchasing Services is requesting approval of a Participating Addendum for rental equipment, products and services offered through Global Rental Company, Inc. Products are guaranteed through the master contract awarded by Sourcewell’s Cooperative Program. Approval of the addendum between Contra Costa County and Global Rental Company, Inc., allows Public Works Fleet Services to obtain guaranteed pricing available through the Sourcewell contract, and offer substantial discounts off published list prices. This will allow the Public Works Fleet Division to purchase Rental Equipment, Products and Services at discount prices.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Without approval of this agreement, the County would be paying full price on equipment purchased.
