RECOMMENDATIONS:

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 26244 to reassign one vacant (1) Accounting Technician (JD7A) position #7165 (40hrs) at salary plan and grade 3RX-1236 ($5,066.23-$6,469.79) from Department #0540 (Health Services Hospital Enterprise) to Department #0450 (Public Health) in the Contra Costa Health Department. (Represented)

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, the annual cost of approximately $124,685.79, including $18,215.31 in pension costs will shift from #0540 (Health Services Hospital Enterprise) to #0450 (Public Health). 100% funded by STD Prevention and Collaboration, Access to Technology and Test-to-Treat grants.

BACKGROUND:

Public Health has received several additional funding sources and needs additional support in overseeing, reviewing, and controlling accounting records. The Accounting Technician position will allow the division to effectively manage the volume of all funding received. The accountants currently are at full workload capacity and Public Health is continuously receiving new grants from its programs.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The current accounting staff will be unable to maintain and scale the accounting responsibilities within the Public Health Department.
