RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, on behalf of the Family and Children's Trust (FACT) Committee, to execute an interagency Agreement with the Mount Diablo Unified School District in an amount not to exceed $80,000 for the Crossroads High School Project serving pregnant and parenting youth for the period July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$80,000: 75% Federal Community Based Child Abuse Prevention Funds; 25% Ann Adler Children and Family Trust Donations, all of which is budgeted in the FY 24-25 budget.
BACKGROUND:
Mount Diablo Unified School District was selected through the competitive bid process, Request For Proposal (RFP) 1181 for the FY22-23 Agreement. Agreement renewal for these services with the agency was authorized by the Board of Supervisors on July 26, 2022 (C.81) for FY22/23 and June 27, 2023 (C.101) for FY23/24.
The FACT Committee performed a Site Visit on March 27, 2024 and as a result is recommending renewing the Agreement and funding the Crossroads High School Project (Project) for FY24-25. This Agreement contains a mutual indemnification provision.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This Agreement will support three of the five community outcomes established in the Children's Report Card: 3) "Families that are Economically Self Sufficient"; 4) "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing"; and 5) "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families" by providing education and building self-esteem for pregnant and parenting youth and their families.
