RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #26-232-8 with Agiliti Surgical, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $300,000 for the provision of medical lasers, equipment and certified technicians to operate lasers in the Surgical Unit at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) and Contra Costa Health Centers for the period September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2026.

FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this contract will result in contractual service expenditures of up to $300,000 over a 3-year period and will be funded 100% by Hospital Enterprise Fund I revenues. (Rate increase)

BACKGROUND:
The county has been contracting with Agiliti Surgical, Inc., since September 2015 to provide medical lasers, equipment and certified technicians to operate lasers in the Surgical Unit at CCRMC and Contra Costa Health Centers, including providing safety and other appropriate technical training and service to county in connection with the use of equipment. Contractor's technicians are specially trained, experienced, competent and certified.

This contract is entered into under and subject to the following legal authorities: California Government Code ?? 26227 and 31000; Health and Safety Code ? 1451. The contractor possess a highly specialized combination of technical and equipment services reduces risk and minimizing patient harm by providing trained technicians who actively work with Operating Room staff to address equipment issues during surgery in real time. This service eliminates time wasted by physicians waiting for surgery-ready equipment and by CCRMC staff not having to follow up on repairs and maintenance of CCRMC-owned equipment.
