RECOMMENDATIONS:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute on behalf of the County Contract #77-234-2 with California Spine Center, A Professional Medical Corporation, in an amount not to exceed $360,000, to provide pain management services for Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) members and County recipients for the period August 1, 2024 through July 31, 2027.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this Contract will result in contractual service expenditures of up to $360,000 over a three-year period and will be funded 100% by CCHP Enterprise Fund II revenues.
BACKGROUND:
CCHP has an obligation to provide certain medical specialty health care services including but not limited to pain management services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County. Pain management is an aspect of medicine health care involving relief of pain (pain relief, analgesia, pain control) in various dimensions, from acute and simple to chronic and challenging. Contractor specializes in treating medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. Contractor's proven track record and established reputation within the medical community mitigates potential risks associated with CCHP's success and patient well-being. This Contractor has been a part of the CCHP Provider Network providing pain management services and fostering a deep understanding of the CCHP organizations mission, values, and long-term objectives since August 1, 2019.
