From:                                          David O. Livingston, Sheriff-Coroner

Report Title:                      AnyDesk Software GmbH

Recommendation: Recommendation of the County Administrator

RECOMMENDATIONS:

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute on behalf of the Sheriff-Coroner, a purchase order with AnyDesk Software GmbH (AnyDesk) in an amount not to exceed $7,084, for the renewal of our Advanced license subscription, for the period September 25, 2026, through September 24, 2029.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Approval of this request will result in a one-time expenditure of $7,084, funded 100% by the General Fund.

BACKGROUND:

The Sheriff’s Office IT PC Support team has been using AnyDesk as our primary tool for remote desktop access and troubleshooting tool since 2023.  AnyDesk is a powerful and secure Remote Assistance Software that allows us to provide fast problem-solving from any location by remotely accessing users’ computers and addressing issues directly.  It is one of the primary tools of the PC Support team.

The Terms and Conditions includes a limitation of liability and indemnification from the County and AnyDesk Software GmbH.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If the Board does not approve, we will lose access to the software, which would prevent us from quickly identifying and troubleshooting issues for all users, including sworn staff.  This will result in increased downtime and decreased productivity and could affect mission-critical services provided by the Sheriff’s Office, potentially impacting multiple entities within the county, including other police departments and first responders.
